A 1640×700 landscape scene showing a silhouette of Governor Greg Abbott planting a tattered flag labeled “School Choice Victory” atop the Texas Capitol steps. Behind him lie torn banners reading “Uniparty,” “Union Influence,” and “Establishment Politics.” The sky is ablaze in red-orange tones, and a bold footer reads “Parents Win. Unions Lose. Texas Leads.”

Abbott Didn’t Compromise — He Declared War on the Uniparty and Won

Greg Abbott just rewrote the playbook for beating teachers’ unions and the RINO establishment. And every conservative governor in America should be taking notes.

For months, Abbott pushed to pass a universal school choice bill in Texas, facing resistance not from Democrats (everyone expected that) — but from Republican lawmakers who had been bought and paid for by the Texas affiliate of the teachers’ unions. They were GOP in name only — and Abbott called their bluff.

The Republican Brand Is Worthless Without Action

We’ve seen this play out before. A red state, a Republican supermajority, and a GOP governor pushing conservative policy — only for the bill to quietly die in committee or get gutted by “concerns.” That’s the uniparty play. Call yourself conservative, protect the status quo, and hope no one notices.

Abbott noticed. And he named names.

Expose the RINOs, Replace the RINOs

Abbott went scorched-earth. He targeted the Republican representatives who opposed school choice in the primaries. He backed challengers. He got involved in races. And he didn’t hide behind talking points — he said clearly: if you’re siding with the unions against Texas families, you don’t deserve the Republican label.

Twelve of the anti-school choice Republicans are gone. Four others are in runoffs. Abbott didn’t just beat the unions — he taught everyone how to do it.

School Choice or Union Control — Pick One

This wasn’t about policy details. It was about power. Teachers’ unions want monopoly control over public education. They want your money, your kids, and zero accountability. They oppose every form of parental choice, curriculum transparency, or values-based education.

In Texas, they’ve now lost that grip. Families will soon be able to use education savings accounts (ESAs) to choose what’s best for their kids — public, private, charter, homeschool — and the funding follows the student.

That’s freedom. That’s the future.

Every Conservative State Needs to Do the Same

Texas just proved that passing school choice isn’t a matter of math — it’s a matter of will. Conservative governors and legislators in other red states have no more excuses. If Texas can do it, so can Idaho. So can Oklahoma. So can every state where RINOs and union money are still running the table.

There’s no more room for cowardice. The blueprint is clear:

  • Call out the obstructionists
  • Name the union affiliations
  • Primary the sellouts
  • Deliver real reform

The stakes are too high. The time for playing nice with union puppets in red ties is over. If you say you represent conservative voters, prove it.

Or get out of the way.
